• | This is one of my favorite churches anywhere in the world. It is a lovely place to spend some time and is not in the slightest bit scary – so don’t let the idea of spirits hanging around bother you. My family often went to Mass here when I was small and we lived a few blocks away. The student chapel next door burned to the ground many years ago, and in fact my great aunt and her husband were the last ones married there before it was destroyed. • | A benevolent and nurturing ghost, Mary Lake, watches over her guests’ comfort, especially in room 410! She is known for tucking guests in, putting away clothes from the suitcase, and in an incident not reported in this article, reassuring the mother of a sick child that the little girl would be fine…. • | Mount Madonna park has a ghost or two, you may have heard. But there are also sightings of spirits in Gilroy, San Juan Bautista, and elsewhere!
